ElkTracker is a one-time payment of $29. No subscriptions, no recurring fees.

A single license lets you install and activate ElkTracker on up to 5 devices. Updates are included for one full version cycle: if you buy v1.0, you receive all updates up to and including v2.0. If you buy v1.2, you receive updates up to and including v2.2. After that, upgrading to the next cycle is a discounted paid upgrade.

Yes! Download the free demo and run it on your device before purchasing. The demo is fully functional except that saving, loading, and exporting projects is disabled. If it runs well on your hardware, the full version will too. Because activation is verified offline by the device, we do not offer refunds after purchase.

Your device writes a file called elktracker.id to the SD card on every boot. You upload that file to the license portal, and we generate a matching elktracker.lic license file. Copy it to the same folder on the SD card, and ElkTracker verifies it on startup. ElkTracker stays activated for as long as that file is left in place.

Each physical device you activate uses one activation slot (out of 5). Re-downloading a license file for a device you've already activated is free and doesn't use a slot.

The name you enter at activation is baked into the license file and verified by the firmware. If you need to change it on a previously activated device, that requires generating a new license, which uses an activation slot. We recommend entering your name as you'd like it to appear before activating.

If the device hardware is the same, the device ID will be identical and re-downloading is free. A new device will have a new ID, which counts as a new activation. If you're out of activations, contact support and we'll sort it out.

Your existing devices continue to work — nothing expires. You just can't activate new ones until a slot is freed. Contact support if you need more activations.

We use passwordless login — enter your email at /login and we'll send you a magic link. No password to remember.
