MOD Commands
Each instrument has four MOD slots (MOD 1–4), on page 2 of the Instrument screen alongside the LFOs. Each slot is assigned to one parameter (VOLUME, PAN, PITCH, CUTOFF, RES, WT POS, SEND A, SEND B).
Use the MO1–MO4 FX commands in a phrase to set the assigned parameter to a specific value:
| Command | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|
MO1 |
xx |
Write xx to the parameter assigned to MOD slot 1 |
MO2 |
xx |
Write xx to MOD slot 2's target |
MO3 |
xx |
Write xx to MOD slot 3's target |
MO4 |
xx |
Write xx to MOD slot 4's target |
Example: Set MOD 1 → CUTOFF on an instrument, then use MO1 40 in the phrase FX lane to instantly set the filter cutoff to 40. The change applies to the playing voice immediately and is also written back to the Instrument screen. This means this is a real, saved edit to the instrument, not a temporary override.
When the target is PITCH, the parameter is a signed byte like PIT (80 = −128, FF = −1, 01 = +1), unclamped by the SEMI field's usual ±24 range, so a stray MO1 40 on a PITCH slot can jump a voice by 64 semitones!
MOD only reaches the instrument's main channel voice. It doesn't affect that channel's chord voices (CHD) or, on a Drum instrument, the shared pool of pad voices.
Parameters targeted by a MOD slot also display the ~ marker.
MOD and LFO can both target the same parameter simultaneously; in this instance the LFO modulates around whatever value the MOD command last wrote.
