Scale Mode
Project screen: set ROOT (C–B) and SCALE — 19 scales, or OFF for fully chromatic:
MAJOR, MINOR, HARM MIN, MEL MIN, DORIAN, PHRYGIAN, LYDIAN, MIXOLYD, LOCRIAN, MAJ PENT, MIN PENT, BLUES, WHOLE, DIM W-H, DIM H-W, HUNG MIN, PHRYG DM, HIRAJOSH, IN-SEN
When a scale is active, entering a note in the phrase editor snaps to the nearest in-scale note and steps between in-scale notes rather than plain semitones; up/down moves whole octaves, still snapped to the scale.
Per-instrument SCALE field:
PROJECT— inherit the project scaleOFF— all 128 notes available (use this for drum kits and slice samplers)- Own scale + ROOT — instrument uses its own key, ignoring the project scale
Scale mode only guides how new notes are entered - it has no effect on playback. Already-entered notes are never changed by turning a scale on, off, or to something else.
